2022 Guild membership

The Guild is pleased to advise that from 1st July 2022 new members can choose between either 12 month membership (January to December 2022) or 6 month membership (July to December 2022). This change reflects the feedback that some new members wish to have the complete years' worth of Overdrive magazines irrespective of where they join in the membership year as well as those who wish to only pay for the final 6 months. Those who choose the full year option will receive all six Overdrive magazines for the membership year. Those who choose the half-year option will receive the final 3 Overdrive magazines for the membership year.

There are many benefits from being a Guild member, however, for those who are thinking of joining the Guild for the first time, we'd like to draw your attention to the money saving Membership Benefits Scheme which provides a 10% discount on prices with a selection of suppliers, including insurers. Please refer to the website menu item relating to Membership Supplier Benefits.

Another reason for not delaying, and for joining for the whole year rather than just part of it, is that a lack of membership can sometimes leave you without insurance. Many classic car insurers charge low premiums on the understanding that the policy holder is a member of the recognised club for the model, in this case the Guild. Skimp by delaying your membership renewal, and you could find yourself not covered if there’s an insurance claim before you have become a member. In the event of a claim, Insurers are at liberty to contact the Guild to confirm your membership. This has happened in recent years. Therefore, if your P4 is insured on the basis of you being a member, we strongly recommend that your membership of the Guild remains current for the whole year. We are aware that when Guild members are making insurance arrangements, insurers sometimes request membership numbers before commencing cover. Please note that the Guild does not issue membership numbers and this is not necessary for the insurers. Sending a photocopy/scan of your current membership card should be sufficient if you are asked for proof.
