It is interesting to see how Rover honed the shape of the P4 using Studebaker's influence. Pictures below show how Rover considered linking the bumpers up with a body-side trim. A styling aspect used by many car manufacturers in the 1970s and 1980s, e.g. Rover 200/400 (R8), Austin Montego and Ford's Cortina Mk V and Capri Mk III. Did Rover get there first with this idea?
